it's the end of the world as we know it

this blog is seriously lacking the the post department and seeing as it is now a new year i have resolved to make this better (i think i resolved the same thing at the beginning of 2011 too so here is attempt number 2 at having a successful blog). this time i decided to set an actual goal rather than just "post more on my blog" my goal is once a week and seeing as i'm home for the winter i can not use the excuse of "i don't have time."

so as the new year begins, besides my blogging resolution, i have also resolved to get in shape for real (i will be starting an intense zumba class with my wii), learn how to make some pretty amazing foods, take millions of pictures, and read every day, hopefully finish harry potter by the end of january (i'm already on the 4th book) and find something new and exciting to read. 2011 was difficult so i welcome 2012 with open arms! hello new year and hello to every challenge you have awaiting me, i'm ready to face whatever you've got! including the "end of the world!" but i guess if it does this is the last time i will have to make a new years resolution and if it doesn't then i get to attend all those invites on facebook for 2013!

side note: i was going to resolve to change my strange obsession with not capitalizing letters but i like it too much.

my blogging

is seriously slacking. i'm horrible at trying to remember. my life just isn't that exciting. i do the same things every day of every week. i go to class and i do homework. that is my life. however i love college. i love my roommates. they pretty much rock. we get along so very well. no issues. we have lots of fun together.
we do fun things like riding tandem bikes.

eating way too many fried oreos for our own good. but they are delicious, what can we say?

we like to make dinner. we do it every sunday for lots of people. it's always a party. it's always great fun!

we also like to write songs for boys. we serenade them.

they love us. and we love them. especially when they do our dishes and take out our trash. but we love them even when they don't clean for us. that is my life. that is my fun. i love my roommates. i love annie. i love kaity. i love ari. i love shalie. i love jessica. i love them all.

i also love memorial day weekend. or at least i did. it was supposed to rock. but it doesn't. i was supposed to see a friend for the first time in over two years. he bailed on me. i'm mad at him. he better make it up to me. you know who you are.

memorial day is supposed to be warm. we were supposed to go to yellowstone. it was going to be my first time. it was gonna rock. not anymore. why? it's snowing in yellowstone. like 20 inches. thats a lot. and it's almost june. doesn't the weather know that it's supposed to be nice for this weekend.

and don't boys know they aren't supposed to be dumb. i guess not. if so the world would be a whole lot easier. for everyone. oh goodness. life is unpredictable. and it kind of let me down this weekend. but it still love it.

but memorial day also isn't about going to yellowstone. so thank you to all the troops who have and do fight for our country. our freedoms. and the freedoms of others. God bless America!

the birthday i spent...sick

birthdays are supposed to be a happy time. a day we smile. a day we get what we want. a day we do what we want. a day we enjoy. apparently not for me. seeing as i need money so greatly i had to work for the first time ever on my birthday. it sucked. and i was sick. well what's new. i've been sick since january pretty much but out of all those months of being sick, this had definitely been the worst. i couldn't eat anything without my stomach cramping up terribly and feeling nauseous. sounds like a blast, huh? i did get an whole bunch of new clothes. and my parents surprised me with beautiful yellow tulips, a balloon, peeps, and cupcakes, which were both completely sugar so my stomach could handle them. the also took me to see the movie Beastly when i was feeling better and made me a delicious stake dinner. i love my parents. i'll miss them when i go back to school. i guess this will just be remembered as the birthday that sucked. and the birthday that i celebrated 2 days late. i guess it wasn't so bad but no one likes being so sick you can't eat. especially on your birthday. oh well. there's always next year i guess!

life is sweet

i've never had such a strong love hate relationship with something as i do with sugar. sometimes i just hate the fact that i have such a bad sweet tooth. that and the combination of me getting older and my metabolism slowing down will be the death of me one day. but i eat it anyway and regret it later. so here are my top 5 guilty pleasures (in no particular order) when it comes to the sweet stuff:

haagen dazs dulce de leche ice cream (or anything that involves caramel)
one of the most expensive ice creams at the grocery store but it is the single most delicious ice cream that was ever created

this little ball of deliciousness needs no explanation

what is this delicious looking treat you ask? a nanaimo bar. created in canada and introduce to me by my canadian roommate fall semester at BYU-I

i love oreos and pretty much anything that involves oreos. oreo ice cream. oreo cake. oreo pie. oreo cakesters. oreo milk shake. but i can't eat a plain oreo without a tall glass of cold milk. yum

oh the snickers bar. by far my cheapest guilty pleasure but still so very delicious and it contains two of my favorite things. chocolate and caramel.

i love the sweet stuff

this is my life

i am starting new. hopefully this blog will be better than the last one that i so greatly failed at. this is my life. i am currently not at school, which, at times, can be pretty boring. all my friends are at school. i have no social life. the most socializing i do is with children ages 5 and under since i work at a daycare where i spend most of my time. i like my job. sometimes.

this is where i work. it provides hours a day of entertainment from my boring life and hundreds of children. some say the cutest things ever and you just love them to death. others are annoying, drive you crazy, and are the reason you couldn't be more grateful for your eight hour shift to be done at the end of the day. it is also filled with germs. thousands of germs which will give you anything from the common cold to strep throat. luckily i haven't come down with anything worse than the cold but when you're around kids who don't know how to wipe their own noses or cover their mouth when they cough your're bound to catch something eventually. i have been sick since a few days after Christmas and i am tired of it. i just want to be better. so parents of children i work with, please stop bringing your children to school sick. it is frustrating for me. thanks.
